The company previously operated two plants in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, one for the design and manufacture of products, and the other for the manufacture of printed circuit boards associated with the products. However in March of 1993, the smaller site combined with the larger one, resulting in the whole manufacturing base being situated in Pimbo, Skelmersdale. On the 29th June 1998 the company was acquired by the White-Rodgers Division of the Emerson Electric Co. U.S.A. The company is now known once again as Pactrol Controls Limited. In April 2000 Pactrol Controls Ltd assumed control of the White Rodgers plant in Slovakia. PCB controls are being assembled at this site. Having fully obtained full ISO 9001 registration in January 2001, the company then moved all it’s electronics boiler manufacturing over to the Slovakian site leaving automotive assembly only in Skelmersdale. In November 2002, the PCB manufacturing facility closed in Skelmersdale and the entire manufacturing base moved to Slovakia. The Slovakian facility continues to grow and is located on a 14,000sq.ft site, on the Emerson Campus in Nové Mesto nad Váhom near Trecin. In September 2004 the Skelmersdale site was closed and moved to a “Centre of Excellence” facility in Bryn near Wigan. The facility has 13,000 Sq Ft of office, Warehouse and development space. And has been developed as part of Pactrols long term plans to provide and meet its customers on going demands and requirements.
