Pactrol announce the release of CSS 2 - A digital FSC replacement for CSS

RoHs Compliance

The European Union Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment ("RoHS") Directive (2002/95/EC), came in to effect on July 1, 2006. The RoHS directive prohibits the sale of electronic equipment containing certain hazardous substances such as lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls ("PBB") and polybrominated diphenylethers ("PBDE") in the European Union.

Pactrol products are outside the scope of the RoHS directive - Four reasons for exemption having been identified:-

1) Our controls are used only as “Support and Control” devices and are therefore outside the scope of the RoHS Directive.

2) Gas appliances are part of a “fixed installation” so therefore exempt,

3) The “Primary” energy source of appliances is gas and is therefore outside the scope of the RoHS.

4) Component parts (electronic controllers and sub assemblies) used in products outside the scope of the RoHS Directive are exempt.

Inspite of this exemption Pactrol has been proactive in negating any changes to the RoHS directive that would remove the above exemption and over 85% of our products are now RoHS compliant.
